The Mekong King boat designs this excursion to let us explore the vast ecological center of the Mekong Delta. After a short 2-half hour ride South Southwest from Saigon to Cai Be, we will embark on the Mekong King luxury wooden boat to begin our journey to the rich agricultural land with the most hospitable people in Vietnam. The leisurely excursion will cover a visit to the local cottage industry for some learning and discovery with 5 true senses of how to make rice cracker, pop corn, pop rice and coco candies, followed by a delicious lunch awaiting us inside a garden restaurant of a former Mandarin’s ancient house with different Mekong’s specialties. After lunch, enjoy a walk or take a ride on a small hand-rowing sampan back to the Mekong King boat for further cruise to Vinh Long. There are more photo opportunities of different activities such as transporting rice, dredging sand, weaving palm leaves, checking on fishing net, etc. Especially, we will stop by the most famous nursery garden of a local farmer to sample some fruits to be picked fresh from vine while enjoying traditional music. The trip continues with another visit to a local brick kiln before we get dropped off at Vinh Long pier and bid farewell to the crew.
